FSM ASSOCIATION OF CHIEF STATE SCHOOL OFFICERS
Resolution # FR08-05

A resolution endorsing the National Department of Education to proceed with such technical assistance and procedures required for the completion and application of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) curriculum standards at the K-12 schools.

WHEREAS, the Chief Executive Committee approved the development of a separate learning tract for Career and Technical Education (CTE) improvement programs in the FSM toward military buildup in  Guam; and,

WHEREAS vocational education at the states’ public high schools have been provided as alternative and elective courses, not permitting seniors to graduate at journeymen levels; and,

WHEREAS National Department of Education has contracted a consulting firm for the development of a Career and Technical Education Curriculum Standards; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the National Department of Education provide the career and technical education curriculum standards to be integrated into high schools’ vocational education programs to support and improve the skills training efforts toward the Guam military buildup; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT copies of this resolution be officially transmitted to the Office of the President,  Governors, FACSSO members and Chairman of the Boards
